Basic questions to ask child care provider:

*Is the center/home licensed?
*Can I visit/observe anytime?
*What training and education do the teachers have?
*How many children are in a class, and what is the ratio of adults to children?
*Is the environment clean?
*Are the teachers warm and friendly?
*Is there enough space to play inside and outside?
*Is there a lot of staff turnover?
*What are the routines/policies for naps?

Recommendations by early childhood professionals:

*Teachers should have specific training in child development and early childhood education
