Public Engagement, Awareness & Advocacy

Goals: Partner with local media and other sources to provide community-wide education and information on the tasks parents and our community must take to insure ALL Norman children age 0-6 are prepared to enter school and have the best opportunties for success.
Another priority is advocacy. Our volunteers believe in improving public policies to support young children and their families. |

Born Learning
· Comprehensive parent education materials distributed across the community |

· Parent workshops at community businesses |
Child Watch Tour
· Education event where members of the community are invited on a tour highlighting how baby brains develop |
Public Education Campaign
· Success By 6 message spread at events throught the year in the community, including Groovefest, Literacy Day and Family Fun Day. |

Professional Education
· Professional child care providers and members of organizations related to child care and child development are invited to quarterly meetings featuring speakers who are experts on early childhood development |
Success By 6 is a Start Smart community initiative. United Way of Norman serves as lead agency. |
